REFLECTION

A lot has happened in the last few weeks since I last posted. Isolation restrictions are gradually being lifted and the protests spreading throughout cities around the world, including Australia is set to continue for some time yet and with good reason. I’ve held back on actively engaging, choosing to instead reflect on how best I can make a difference going forward. I’ll have more to say in a special post on the #Black Lives Matter movement and what I feel it means for Australia going forward.

No reflection article would be complete without a reflection video. Shot about two weeks ago. Only a few minutes from home.

I’ve been doing a great deal of reflecting and trying to get myself around how best to navigate these times. That doesn’t mean I’ve been kicking back. The month of May saw a resurgence in auditions for me. Productions are starting up again, and I have been fortunate enough to be cast for a corporate video shoot for NSW Health in mid – June. Also waiting to hear back on several other recent auditions including another corporate job, a TV commercial for a well-known insurance brand and a new show being produced on STAN. Fingers crossed.

I’ve also been keeping the acting muscles active by working with industry professionals including David Newman(casting director), Geoff Bennett(director), Micaeley Gibson(casting director) and Faith Martin(casting director).

In the meantime here’s some footage of my newest friend that’s been hanging around my home the past couple of months. He or she has become a bit of an inspiration for me. A sign of things to come.

Symbolically, the eagle rides on the winds of change, telling us that it’s time to gather all of our strength, courage, patience, and wisdom in preparation for life changes and transformations. He tells us to be courageous and to reach beyond previous limits. He challenges us to match his great vision (the eagle eye) and see objectives clearly from all sides. And, he reminds us that when change is imminent, there are only two choices: to be the eagle or become its prey. In other words, adapt to change or let it consume you.(author unknown)

Finally, below is another reflection shot. It’s pretty incredible. It’s moments like these that continue to inspire me to become more creative. I’ve also found time to rework my web-presence so that my acting resources, as well as my blog post(now also in Spanish), are all in the same place. Oh, and did I mention the YouTube channel I’m working on. Stay tuned for that one.

Reflections from the balcony. Truly blessed.
